Frequently Asked Questions

Our Holiday Homes

Can we bring our holiday home from another site onto a pitch at Old Hall?

It isn’t something that we usually do, but it is something we consider on a case by case basis. If we did allow you to bring your holiday home onto the park, the cost for a single unit holiday home is approximately £6,000 for the siting and connection plus any delivery charges.

Do we have to buy one of the holiday homes you stock or can we look elsewhere?

We can supply any make or model of new holiday home you have seen elsewhere. You will need to add approximately £4000 onto the RRP for delivery, siting and connections, depending on size.  Delivery of much larger models and holiday homes coming from certain locations may cost slightly more.

What is the warranty on a new holiday home?

Each manufacturer has a different warranty policy. (Information on specific manufacturer’s warranties can be found on the back of the stock sheet)

What is the warranty for a pre-owned holiday home?

Pre-owned holiday home parts and labour are covered for 3 months for the following items: structure, electrical system, heating system, water supply system and gas supply system.

Do we have to use your insurance?

No, but you must have your caravan insured to cover the requirements set out in our Licence Agreement. Our insurance is through Compass and we have a good rate with them, but you are not obligated to use our insurance. We can provide a quote for insurance upon request. If you are insured through another party, we will need to see the renewal documents annually within 30 days of renewal, or there will be an administration fee.

What if we get frost damage?

Damage caused by frost is not covered by warranty and some insurers will not cover it. Always ensure your unit is drained down before the frosty weather, and not reconnected too early in the season. We offer a drain down service at the end of the season for an additional fee.  In the unlikely event that you have any frost damage after we have drained your caravan for you, we will repair this for you free of charge.

Do we need to own a property or can it be somewhere that we rent?

Whether you are a homeowner or a tenant you must be able to provide us with a council tax bill and a utility bill for your home address annually.

What if we live abroad?

That is ok, but you must be able to provide the equivalent of a council tax bill and a utility bill for that property each year. You must also be able to provide a postal address within the U.K. where we can send invoices, etc.

Can our family and friends come up and use the caravan?

Yes, friends and family can use your caravan, but sub-letting is not allowed.

Can we pay for the caravan on finance?

Are pitch services payable up front or do you have a direct debit option?

Pitch fees are payable in full before 1st March and we do not have a monthly direct debit option. However, you can pay your pitch fees through Orchard Finance in instalments throughout the year, which will incur interest fees.  If you would like more information on the Orchard Finance payment option, please enquire in the office.

Do you offer part exchanges for touring caravans?

We can get a price from our local caravan dealers for you, and do a part exchange if you are happy with the price they have offered.

How much does decking cost?

Decking would cost  from approximately £10,000 -£15,000. This is a very rough idea of price, but we could discuss your specific requirements with Arrad Foot Balconies and  Evabel who will get some quotes for you.

Can we have decking all the way round our caravan?

No, you can only have decking and/or skirting down 1 long side and 1 short side of your caravan, so that we can access underneath your caravan if needed.  Every pitch is slightly different, which affects the size and layout of decking that can be accommodated on the pitch.

My son is a joiner. Could he do our decking for us?

No. We use Arrad Foot Balconies and Evabel to fit all of the decking, to ensure that all decking fits in with the aesthetics of the park and is of good quality.

Do you allow dogs on the site?

Dogs are allowed. They do need to be kept on a lead around the site, but can be exercised off the lead in the woodland walks.  All fouling should be cleared and disposed of in the refuse area.

Can we put a bike store/shed on our pitch?

Yes, but it does have to be one of the storage boxes we provide. We use Tri-metals boxes and you can either buy a new one or you can enquire if we have any pre-owned storage boxes available.  There is usually a waiting list for pre-owned storage boxes and they must be purchased through the office.

How much are your storage boxes?

The new storage boxes we provide range from approx. £699-£799 .  Second hand storage boxes are priced depending on the quality of the box and usually range from about £200 to £300.
