Old Hall Caravan Park is such a beautiful, peaceful, place that visitors often spend days in the valley totally unwinding. But once you’ve exhausted yourself relaxing, it’s time to take in the enormous range of options right on your doorstep. Less than 5 miles from the sea, Morecambe Bay has been a much loved destination for many years that combines the unspoilt charm of Silverdale and Arnside area of outstanding natural beauty and Leighton Moss nature reserve, the genteel bygone pleasures of Grange-over-Sands and ‘classic’ seaside fun of Morecambe itself.

On the west side of the Bay a great day out can be had at Cartmel Races or at the famous Eskdale Miniature Railway. Another great attraction for the kids can be had at South Lakes Wild Animal Park, at Dalton-in-Furness. This splendid wildlife park said by many to be the best in the UK has been layed out to give its Lions, Tigers, Rhinos, Giraffes, Hippos and other big game real freedom.

Close by too is Lancaster. Lying at the mouth of the River Lune (hence Lune-Caster), this historic city has a splendid castle and museum and a great town centre if you feel the need for shopping therapy!

Just a few minutes’ walk from the Park is the Lancaster Canal, great for fishing or a gentle amble through the lush countryside, admiring the splendid narrow boats and wonderful views. Further afield to the East (well 15 minutes away!) is pretty Kirby Lonsdale, which boasts some great restaurants and famous Devils’ Bridge. It’s a great start or end point for a round tour of the Dales and high Pennines taking in Ingleton, Richmond, Dent, Wensleydale and Sedbergh.

Equally close to the North lies Kendal, another charming shopping town. Kendal’s on the road into the fabulous Lake District, with the vast expanse of Windermere with all its water sports, fishing, steamers and magnificent mountains beyond - all less than half an hour from Old Hall.
